Personal Help

There are times when a breastfeeding mother needs support and encouragement from someone who has successfully breastfed her own baby.

La Leche League Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding.

If you have questions about breastfeeding, whether before your baby’s birth, during the first few days, or later, help is available via phone counseling.

Group Meetings

All pregnant women and nursing mothers are invited to participate in our informal monthly meetings.  Establishing a network of support in your decision to breastfeed your baby is an important element of successful breastfeeding.  Babies are always welcome at La Leche League meetings.

Topics covered include:

  • The Advantages of Breastfeeding
  • Getting Off to a Good Start and Family Adjustments to a New Baby
  • The Art of Breastfeeding: Avoiding and Overcoming Difficulties
  • Nutrition and Weaning

Each La Leche League Group maintains a lending library of books and resources on childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting, and nutrition.  La Leche League’s own publication, THE WOMANLY ART of BREASTFEEDING, is available for loan or purchase.
